It contained 150 questions in the paper with a total of 200 points. For each wrong answer, there was a negative mark of 1/3. The paper was moderate overall. From the 2019 prelims test, it had a little changed pattern, as this time about 20-25 questions were analytical/conceptual based on the UPSC pattern. More assertions and questions of logic were present. One of the statements and reasoning questions was based on the UPSC trend from the Economic.
Furthermore, none of the questions was focused on making it more competitive with U.P G.K. Some of the questions of culture-based and mediaeval history were challenging, so unless one knows the sure answer, it would be best to leave them without attempt. Modern history issues, however, were not profoundly factual like the papers of previous years, but chronology still had weight.
