Recently the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has inaugurated electronic marketplace e-Santa (e-SANTA) to provide a platform to connect aqua farmers and buyers.
What is Electronic Marketplace e-SANTA?
- The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India has recently launched an electronic marketplace e-SANTA .
- It will serve as a platform to connect aqua farmers and buyers. At the same time, it will enable farmers to get better prices.
- Apart from this, exporters will be able to purchase quality products directly from farmers through this portal, so that farmers will get better prices for their products.
- The term e-SANTA was coined for the term webportal, meaning Electronic Solution for Augmenting NACSA Farmers Trade in Aquaculture.
- The National Center for Sustainable Aquaculture – NaCSA is an expanded branch of the Marine Products Export Development Authority – MPEDA under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
