A military exercises or war game is a technique for training or performing drills of military operations, testing the quickness and real-time capabilities of warfare, and implementing strategies without actually engaging in combat.
The military exercise is a measure to test the performance of the armed forces without engaging in combat.
Why are military exercises required?
Military exercises have become an imperative part of the armed forces all around the world. They serve many purposes:

सैन्य अभ्यास युद्ध के मैदान में उलझे बिना सशस्त्र बलों के प्रदर्शन का परीक्षण करने का एक उपाय है।
सैन्य अभ्यास (Military Exercises) की आवश्यकता क्यों है?
- सैन्य अभ्यास दुनिया भर में सशस्त्र बलों का अनिवार्य हिस्सा बन गया है। वे कई उद्देश्यों की पूर्ति करते हैं जैसे:
- यह सैनिकों को प्रशिक्षित करता है कि वे संघर्ष के समय में कैसे कार्य करें, कैसे सोचें और कैसे एक-साथ काम करें।

8. | ARF DiR Ex | आसियान क्षेत्रीय मंच आपदा राहत अभ्यास (ए.आर.एफ डी.आई.आर एक्स) बड़े पैमाने पर आपदा राहत अभ्यास के आयोजन में नागरिक अधिकारियों और सेना के बीच प्रयासों का एक सहयोग है। यह पहली बार 2009 में आयोजित किया गया था, यह हर दो साल में होता है और एक आसियान सदस्य राज्यों और एक गैर-आसियान ए.आर.एफ सदस्य द्वारा को-होस्ट किया जाता है। |

इनका उद्देश्य विभिन्न विभागों के बीच आंतरिक जुड़ाव में सुधार करना है। वे इसकी प्रकृति और इसके अनुप्रयोग के आधार पर अंतर-सेवा या इंट्रा-सेवा हो सकते हैं।

2. | विजय प्रहार | भारतीय सेना के दक्षिण पश्चिमी कमान द्वारा आयोजित किया जाता है। महीने भर चलने वाले इस अभ्यास का उद्देश्य खतरों के व्यापक स्पेक्ट्रम को ऑर्केस्ट्रेट करना था जिसकी योजना उच्च गति के साथ संयुक्त वायु और भूमि संचालन के माध्यम से निपटने की है। |
3. | पश्चिम लहर-18 | अरब सागर में पश्चिमी तट से भारतीय नौसेना द्वारा किया जाने वाला त्रि-सेवा समुद्री अभ्यास। इस अभ्यास का उद्देश्य भारतीय नौसेना, भारतीय सेना, भारतीय वायु सेना और तटरक्षक के बीच पारस्परिकता का निर्माण करना था। |
4. | वायु शक्ति 2019 | यह प्रत्येक 3 वर्ष में एक बार आयोजित किया जाने वाला एक वायु सेना अभ्यास है। इसे पहले 2016 में ‘आयरन फिस्ट’ कोडनाम में रखा गया था। यह पोखरण, राजस्थान में आयोजित एक गोलाबारी प्रदर्शन अभ्यास है। |
